Rich Stinziano - Head Athletic Trainer
Entering third season as Devils' head trainer, fourth season as a member of the training staff, and fifth season with the organization... Named to current post July 2008; spent first season as assistant trainer... First joined organization in August 2006 as head athletic trainer with Lowell (AHL)... Served the State University of New York at Buffalo's Sports Medicine Institute as physical therapist/athletic trainer for six years... Spent six seasons as athletic trainer for the Wheatfield (NY) Blades Jr. B hockey team in the Golden Horseshoe League... Was athletic trainer for four varsity sports programs at Williamsville (NY) South/East High Schools... Attended SUNY at Buffalo and received doctorate degree in physical therapy and bachelor of science degree in exercise science/athletic training... Provided coverage for University at Buffalo's Division I football, basketball, wrestling and volleyball teams for three seasons... Attended Onondaga Community College (Syracuse, NY); received an associate of applied sciences degree in physical therapy... A licensed physical therapist and certified athletic trainer; Is a member and a certified examiner for the National Athletic Trainer Association... 37 years old and single, resides in Roseland, NJ. |

Richard Matthews - Head Equipment Manager
In his 11th season as Devils' equipment manager and 14th in NHL... Spent previous three years in similar capacity with the Dallas Stars, including their 1998-99 Stanley Cup Championship season... Also spent three seasons with the International Hockey League's Detroit Vipers... Served as equipment manager for Western Conference at 2009 NHL All-Star Game... Was selected as a member of the 1997 IHL Eastern Conference All-Star Team training staff... Worked for the Phoenix Roadrunners (IHL) for four seasons... Primary duties include the ordering, repairing, inventory and maintenance of all equipment... Also coordinates the transfer of the team's equipment between Prudential Center and other NHL cities... Works closely with the 29 other NHL equipment managers on their equipment and facility needs while in New Jersey... A graduate of Arizona State University; Earned his degree in exercise science... Rich, 39, and his wife, Sara, an elementary school teacher, have two daughters, ten-year-old Madisyn Kay, and six-year-old Kamdyn Rose. |
